What is Shuffle Dance?

Get ready to Shuffle

We’ve seen a lot of EDM fans show off this strange, and fairly new, dancing style in a number of music videos, on the web, and on YouTube in their own personal videos in recent years.

When you’re not sure what it’s all about or how to do it, it appears that you’re skipping out on a lot of fun. At first impression, the dancer appears to be running while smiling and having a wonderful time.

Shuffling means more than just having a good time to dance music lovers. It is a form of self-expression, an achievement, and, as others describe it, “a method to enhance their mental and physical health.”

The Shuffle dance was formed in the 1980s and is an improvised dance in which the dancer constantly "shuffles" their feet inward, then outward, while throwing their arms up and down, or side - to - side, in time with music beats.

Let’s get into depth and discover more about the dance, and learn how you can start shuffling in just 5 minutes!

Where did Shuffle start?

The Shuffle dance originated in the early 1980s in Melbourne, Australia, amid the underground rave culture. It was called the Melbourne Shuffle back then.

Shuffle dance popularity developed with the rise of the electronic dance music (EDM) scene throughout the world, and it is currently being performed by thousands individuals from all over the world at all of the major EDM events.

In 2012, the Melbourne Shuffle gained massive popularity in the United Kingdom and was nicknamed “The Shuffle.”

The Best Shuffling Music

In the early 1990s, Techno music had a tremendous effect on Melbourne’s underground culture.

The high beat music for shuffle dancers was established by this high-BPM electronic music sub-genre. However, shuffling became so popular that it expanded to the electro house and hard-style genres. Today, shuffling covers nearly the entire range of electronic dance music

We’ve seen a lot of shuffle dance in videos from EDM, Trance, House, Techno, Electro, and other subgenres.

The ideal music for shuffling is typically more energetic electronic music. Nevertheless, any EDM music will suit this dance. As a result, shuffle is a very versatile dancing style: you can dance to whichever song you like. There are no restrictions on how much you may personalise this dance by yourself. Here are some better EDM music for shuffling!
